After our livestock guardian dog Freya was injured and needed surgery, we saw firsthand how stressful veterinary costs can be.
Freya’s Shield was created to help other families facing those same challenges.
All proceeds go toward helping pets receive the medical care they need.
Our Story
Feathered & Feral Homestead is a small family-run homestead in Sheridan, Illinois, built with a lot of learning, laughter, and a little bit of chaos along the way. What started as a few chickens quickly grew into a flock of chickens, ducks, turkeys, and plenty of other animals that are now part of our daily life.
Our homestead is run by our family, including our daughter Laila, who loves helping care for the animals and sharing them with visitors. Every day here is about learning, caring for our animals, and building a life that stays connected to nature.
We raise our animals with care and love sharing the experience with others through farm visits, incubator rentals, and farm-fresh eggs. Whether you're stopping by to meet the animals, learn about hatching chicks, or simply follow along with our homestead journey, you're always welcome here.
